General Information

Bangkok Hospital Hatyai’s Brain and Neurologic Center provides services in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation including disease prevention, planning and care for the quality of life of brain and nervous system patients with our team of experienced medical specialists equipped with state-of-the art instruments and equipment for accurate diagnosis of brain and nervous system disorders, and rapid treatment planning for the patient working together with a multidisciplinary team such as physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists, etc. to provide patients with a better quality and standard of life.

Various Services:

The Brain and Neurologic Center of the Bangkok Hospital Hatyai consists of the Stroke Clinic, Memory Clinic, and clinics for the treatments for brain and other neurological disorders including patients with headaches, dizziness, numbness, epilepsy, and muscle weakness, movement and sleep disorders, etc.

The Stroke Clinic is composed of neurologists, brain surgeons, physiotherapists, skilled nurses and multidisciplinary teams capable of diagnosing with advanced equipment and planning treatment while staying in hospital or discharged to home. The Memory Clinic provides diagnosis services and treatment to patients with problems of memory and perception, or behavioral disorders. A memory assessment is conducted in conjunction with a psychologist, a blood test and brain scan, as required.

Rehabilitation and follow up treatment

The rehabilitation team comprises physicians, physical and occupational therapists, whose duty is to follow-up and recommend ways to deal with various symptomatic issues such as muscle weakness, dysphagia, dystonia, muscle pain. The Brain and Neuroscience Center and Rehabilitation Center collaborate to select the most appropriate rehabilitation program for each individual patient with the objective to assist patients to be able to control and conduct body movements as one was previously capable of doing.

There are also nutritionists who will assist in providing guidance regarding food consumption in cases of stroke, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, including registered nurses of the Brain and Neurology Center who can assist to educate patients and their family about brain and neurovascular disorders in order to understand their particular health issues and to know how to reduce the risk of problems or complications which may occur.

  3. Diagnosis of the neck, artery and brain utilizing high frequency waves (Carotid Duplex Ultrasonogram)
  4. Diagnosing the electric waves of muscles through Electromyography (EMG)
  5. Diagnosing electrical brain waves through Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  6. Testing for cognitive ability (Cognitive testing)
